We not only serve communities, we represent them. The CalNonprofits policy convention presented an opportunity for nonprofit leaders and staff to engage in thought-provoking discussions and exchange views and insights on the crucial policy issues facing nonprofit organizations.
On Thursday November 14th, over 250 nonprofit leaders, foundation folks, consultants, and change makers gathered to spend a day discussing, debating, learning and inspiring each other to work together to create systemic change in California through policy advocacy.

During the opening plenary session CEO Jan Masaoka asked “what can philanthropy be doing better?” and sparked a good dialogue among foundation executives Fred Ali (Weingart Foundation), Pam David (Haas Sr. Fund) and Emmett Carson (Silicon Valley Community Foundation).
