Tax Filing Relief
Use the Form990online platform to file your taxes, and organizations with gross revenues over $100,000 receive a 25% discount (the service is free to those with lesser revenues).
Background checks
- COEUS Global offers great rates and responsive customer service to CalNonprofits members – including setting up your own online portal for volunteers and staff to enter their information and, if you choose, to ask them if they want to cover the cost of the background check (about 20% of volunteers say yes to this option!) They can also process LiveScan fingerprint background checks – and help you figure out what kind of information you really need to collect. Plus – all the information is stored on their secure servers so you don’t have to worry about keeping sensitive personal information in your files.
- Intellicorp Records - Great prices on records search background checks available for your nonprofit employees/volunteers - includes criminal search, sex offender registry, SSN verification with address history and Terrorist search (OFAC).
Accounting and Finance
- Switch to the slightly-more-complicated but significantly less expensive interchange-plus pricing with Dharma Merchant Services. The Nonprofit Quarterly (NPQ) is an independent nonprofit news organization that has been serving nonprofit leaders, charitable foundations, educators, independent activists, and others involved in the civil sector for more than fifteen years. Members get a $10 discount on one-year subscriptions to print and digital access (four issues, $49 instead of $59.) The discount can be used by current subscribers as well as for renewals.
