Nonprofit votes count. You know that. With nearly 1 million nonprofit staff and 7 million volunteers in California, when we vote with our missions we make a difference.

Tomorrow — Tuesday, November 7, 2017 — many counties have elections. Some are for special districts, such as School Districts, Water Districts, Fire Protection Districts, whether or not to raise the salary of the mayor, and so forth.

Easiest way to check what elections affect you is to go to Voters Edge California and put in your zip code.

And don’t forget: if you’ve moved since the last time you voted, you will need to register again. Normally you need to register 15 days before an election, but if you haven't done that you can vote tomorrow by going to your county’s office and getting a Conditional Voter Registration that will allow you to vote. Or you can register online so you’ll be ready for the next one.

The right to form associations and petition the government are two of our First Amendment democratic rights. Another democratic right is the right to vote. Make your vote count!
