On June 6th, 2018, over 400 people gathered in Sacramento to celebrate the nearly 100 nonprofits who were selected as "Nonprofit of the Year" by their state senator or assemblymember. The event was held at the historic Masonic Temple in Sacramento, and Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Torlakson spoke to the sold-out crowd, highlighting the intersection of education with nonprofits.
