Please join the board and staff of CalNonprofits in welcoming the three outstanding individuals who’ve been newly elected to the CalNonprofits board of directors! The three, elected by our membership from a slate of eleven candidates, are:
In addition Susan Gomez, President, Inland Empire Community Collaborative (IECC) of San Bernardino, has been elected for a second term; we are fortunate to have her continuing knowledge and leadership in guiding CalNonprofits.
Two-thirds of our board seats are elected by members – it’s in our bylaws! – and the participation of our membership is essential. Each person elected will serve a three-year term and can serve no more than three consecutive terms.
The four members leaving the board have been long-serving stalwarts, leaving an indelible mark as leaders and key contributors to the growth and success of CalNonprofits. Departing our board as of Sept. 1 are (pictured above, from left) the irreplaceable: Michael Alexander, who served for eight years; Yolanda Gorman, who over a period of 20 years has served four terms on the CalNonprofits board and 20-plus years on the board of our subsidiary, CalNonprofits insurance; Shamus Roller has served for nine years; and Latonya Slack has served three three-year terms on the CalNonprofits board and 10 years on CNIS’s board. We can’t thank them enough for their years of commitment and service to the nonprofit community.
