This 2019 update to the first-of-its kind report on the size, scope, and funding for nonprofits in California includes new research as well. The size, scope, and variety of the nonprofit sector has changed little in the six years since the orginal Causes Count, but worsening disparities, and a downward trajectory in volunteerism are worrying. This report also includes new research into government funding, which accounts for almost 30% of nonprofit revenue.
