UPDATE: OMB Memo Rescinded
The OMB order freezing all federal grants and contracts has now been rescinded via a simple two-line memo.
That irresponsible order on Monday threatened our entire nonprofit sector with de-funding. Destabilization and chaos is the intent, and critical time and resources were needlessly pulled away from the good work of thousands of nonprofit organizations serving millions of Americans.
We can be certain of three things going forward:
- Organizing and pushing back works.
- The administration remains fully committed to de-funding the work targeted in the dozens of Executive Orders issued since Jan 20.
- This will happen again, in some form or another.
CalNonprofits, in coalition with state and national partners, will continue to work together to support and prepare our sector from future threats to undermine the basic services so many people rely on. And you can help!
